Hi, I’m Cecilia!
I’m a developmental editor dedicated to helping authors refine their stories so that their writing will resonate with readers. I especially enjoy working with indie authors, first-time authors, and authors from underrepresented communities. I will help you polish your manuscript so that your story is more effective at grabbing your readers' attention so that they can't stop reading until they reach the very end. I offer developmental editing and line editing services to help shape your manuscript to be the best it can be.
As an editor, I fully understand that you, the author, are the one who retains full creative control of your work. I am here to support your creative writing process. Through my editorial guidance, I will work to bring the best out of your story and ensure that your voice comes through clearly.
Through years as a lifelong reader and thinking about storycraft, I have internalized what makes a story work and the pitfalls that can derail a good story. I went on to earn a Master's in Book Publishing at Portland State University where I worked at Ooligan Press and gained a holistic education in book publishing. I am also experienced in direct author communications through my work at Amazon Publishing.

For authors who just need some overall guidance about where their manuscript is going wrong and how to fix it. I will write a revision letter that details the structural-level story problems — and offer solutions. Note that I will not leave queries in the manuscript.

The whole package. This is a big picture, structural-level edit where I will carefully go through your manuscript with queries, identify story problems, and provide a detailed revision letter with editorial solutions.
