Editorial at Ooligan Press
At Ooligan Press, I edited a total of six books, published and forthcoming, and evaluated four manuscripts for acquisitions. I have experience in all levels of editing: developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading. I have worked on both fiction and nonfiction titles in genres ranging from history, young adult, memoir, thriller, and even a comic.
One of the editorial projects I am proudest of is my involvement in the acquisition and editing of Ooligan's recently published title, The Legend of Sensei Tsinelas. The Legend of Sensei Tsinelas is a young adult title with a Filipino-American high school student as the main character written by a Filipino-American author.
I was involved in the acquisitions phase where I conducted a manuscript evaluation and participated in the acquisitions pitch team. I am so proud to have been a part of the acquisition phase where I was able to help think through some of the issues the author needed to address in the manuscript before it moved on to the editorial phase. I also found it rewarding to be able to point out places in the manuscript during the copyediting phase that needed rephrasing or points that could be potentially problematic before the book made it to bookshelves.
As an Asian American, I am thrilled I was able to help shape the manuscript for a Filipino-American young adult story and bring the author’s story to life.

Technical Editing
As a Marketing Intern at Kittelson & Associates, I proofread three project proposals, wrote project descriptions for the project database, and created marketing cutsheets summarizing the highlights of a project. Proposal work samples are available by request.
